“Manufacturing Africa is a project that promotes industrialization in East and West Africa by attracting £1.2 billion in foreign direct investment. Also, they aim at creating 90,000 jobs by 2026,” says the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN).
MAX is a seamless transportation experience for Africans powered by innovation, technology, and eco-friendly infrastructure. Manufacturing Africa is sustaining MAX’S ambitions by helping it acquire capital for its project: the development of electric vehicles.
The Chief Executive Officer of MAX, Mr Adetayo Bamiduro while commending the UK government for their support, said the company is excited about unlocking networks and relationships required to drive the adoption of manufacturing electric vehicles in Nigeria.
MAX’s first mission was to resolve difficulties and challenges around last-mile transportation in Sub-Saharan Africa. However, they noticed lots of gas emissions in Africa; and the idea of manufacturing Electric vehicles rose forth. If electric vehicles adoption does not commence now, greenhouse gas emissions will hit 2.3 Gigaton in Africa mobility by 2030, says Bamiduro.
MAX has successfully designed MAX M3, the first Africa ready electric motorcycle. They have provided two, three and four wheels for commercial drivers and health insurance. Laing noted that the commission was looking forward to seeing the innovation rolled out across Africa and the UK.
