It is obvious that Dorcas is from a royal family. The ‘Ade’ in her name isn’t for just an ordinary person. Based on my research, I found the meaning of her first name, Dorcas “A female roe-deer”. A woman who is known for her good works and acts of charity. You would get to know her good works as we delve in.
Nike is arguably the best designer I’ve had the privilege to work with. I was in awe. Her drive, determination and resilience is simply amazing. She pays attention to detail which makes her work stand out. It was a really nice experience working with her and I hope to work on more projects with her.

Dorcas Adenike Adesanoye’s Early Life
Dorcas Adenike was born on 1st March in the late 90s. Hailed from Ondo State, It is interesting to know that she is an ambivert. She exhibited this trait in her design skill, I think it’s part of what makes her exceptional in the field. She developed a passion for solving problems right from the early stage of her life. She’s able to look deep into a problem, ask thoughtful questions and come up with a viable solution.
What amazes me most about Dorcas’s story is her organizational skill. Adenike is an extremely organized person, she allocates time for each task ensuring she is productive with her time. At the end of the day, she evaluates herself.
Life After Service
Adenike is a Sociologist that transcends into UI/UX designer. After graduation, moving to serve her dear nation in 2018, she was certain she would get a job after her service year. Lol
In her search for a job, a year had passed already. She eventually settled to run her family business after which she met her childhood friend, Joseph Adebisi. This fellow opened her eyes to the reality of life. He introduced her to an exceptional woman in tech, Bolanle Banwo, founder of Ganeza school of design. That was how Adenike’s life changed and her tech journey began.
I recommend Nike for any and ALL jobs in her field. She delivers AMAZING work and goes over an beyond to do more than she you aske. ANY company that doesn’t employ her is AT a loss to SAY THE VERY LEAST. Kudos NIKE. The sky is YOUR STEPPING stone.

Dorcas Adenike Adesanoye’s Tech Story
Dated back to August 2020 during the remote internship organized by Hotels.ng to train talented software developers and designers. Adenike was selected to be one of the interns due to her outstanding works as a UI/UX designer, she was a finalist of the event. Ganeza school of design as well awarded her for successfully completing the school’s comprehensive graphic design project. She also interned at Zuri and HNG, these internships were stepping stones to make her better. With a very competitive selection process of over 22,000 enrollment, merely over 200 made the final list. It wasn’t all about teaching but the experienced gather is highly invaluable. This shows clearly her zeal to excel as a product designer.
Her open-mindedness to becoming an expert in her field made her seek mentorship from experts in the industry. She advised that before you decide to seek mentorship or help from people, always have something to show. This will give them a conviction that you’re prior knowledge and you’re ready to learn more. After the internship, she got a Macbook from HNG, courtesy of Ingressive for good. That’s indeed a great feat!
Ondo’s drive…
We all hear of the stubborn traits of Ondo people, lol. Is it actually true?. It amazes me people do not recognize their hard-working and passion to achieve. They can make a mountain out of a molehill due to their hard work and thoughtfulness. Adenike is one of many of the shining rays of the Sunshine state. Hopefully, I get an invite over for a Pupura by the way.
I know Nike is a real talent. I collaborated with Nike on several projects as a fellow designer during HNG internship from stage 4 to the final stage. As an assistant team lead, I noticed Nike’s attention to detail, skill in creating useful interfaces and ability to handle feedback. Nike earned my respect and recommendation. She would be a great asset to any company.

Dorcas Adenike Adesanoye’s Work Highlight
As a passionate problem solver being driven by her enthusiasm for design, she doesn’t just create a design. She understands what clients want and helps them get the ideas out. Adenike combines freelancing with her full-time role and you can testify to her magic. The notion of designs is lately seen as an investment which is right. Top organizations invest massively into what people see because seeing is believing. Dorcas mentors at Kimoyo Fellowship and volunteers at She Code Africa.
Life Beyond Work
I know quite a lot of people that cannot dance to save your life. We have a teacher now, Adenike loves to dance. Sometimes to unwind, she writes and watches movies. I just hope she’s not addicted to Netflix because watching movies is her favourite pastime. If she’s not doing any of these, she’s engrossed in deep thoughts. Is it about finding the life of her life? I really don’t know, but I guess it’s on how to hit her next gig.
She has the belief that Africa is blessed with intelligent individuals with great minds, most especially the youths. Africa youths are taking over technology across the continent. She also mentioned that Africa is trying its best to leave the bottom of the pyramid in terms of technology growth. Developers, designers, data scientists, researchers and great minds are coming together to make it a reality. Regardless of government policies, I am convinced by her belief that the future of technology in Africa is bright.
Nike’s willingness to manage even the most difficult clients—effortlessly—astonished me. Her designs are outstanding, not just in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of considering the user’s flow for smooth interactions.

Dorcas Adenike’s Memories
Life itself is full of memories. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Dorcas’ worst moment was getting rejection emails after so much praise from interviewers. It’s even better she wasn’t ghosed😅
One thing she did after every interview was to ask the interviewer to rate her performance. She said some interviewers won’t be honest. They would grade her high with praises thinking she would get the job. Whereas, her rejection mail was on its way. Her greatest joy is her journey. When she looked back at how far she had come, she was overwhelmed. She’s proud of every achievement. Her successes, failures and all that contributed to it.
Finally, she tries as much as possible to take the time to have real conversations with people. She hangs out with friends to talk about designs, work on projects, discuss technology and life in general. She loves new friends that are intentional about one’s growth as well. Techtrend Africa celebrates your passion and believes you are just getting started!
What advice would you give to someone getting into tech?
Put in the hard work and be consistent. Surround yourself with friends of value most. Never look at other people’s achievements to judge yours. Put yourself out there (I can say this every-time. Like I always say, if you don’t show and tell people about what you are selling, how will they know?). Find a mentor. Lastly, always pray to God to bless and favour your hard work.
