Dr Osaru Agbonaye’s Career Journey
Dr Osaru Agbonaye graduated from high determined to further his education by learning more about computers. With the support of his father, they made enquiries about how to kickstart his journey. The world of tech then was not as saturated with information and learning platforms as now. Schools were not practical and the syllabus was not relevant to the trend of the 21st century. Dr Osaru had to go into an all-encompassing field, electrical engineering where he could be exposed to the hardware of computers. He earned a B.Eng certificate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Benin.
Dr Osaru Agbonaye as an undergraduate keeps his hands busy with building websites and software and this helped him in his studies. Afterwards, Dr Osaru obtained his MSc. in the same field from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. As a focused individual who doesn’t want to lag behind in his career, he took a step higher. Apart from his academic pursuit, he constantly skills himself by learning about various technological tools. Dr Osaru Agbonaye dreams to build a host of software that will tackle real-life challenges. This increased his interest in diverse areas and made his acquaintance name him “Jack of all Trade. Dr Osaru is skilled in more than 40 software and tools including Programming, Computer Networking, Graphics, 3D Animation, Embedded Systems, and Computer Hardware. All these skills are what contributed to his professionalism as he easily integrates them into his daily practice. Dr Osaru began his field practice in 2014 after his Bachelor’s degree as a lecturer in his alma mata. He has also worked as a Renewable Energy Consultant with an Australian-based company, Water Stone Energy.
Dr Osaru Agbonaye is the founder of a software development and management company, SARU TECH. The company still functions to date with him handling the role of the Senior Software Engineer. Dr Osaru Agbonaye is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Energy Flexibility Demand Modelling at the University of Reading. He is also a registered Engineer certified by COREN.
