The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has approved the operation of 173 mobile towers in 5 governorates in Egypt in a move to improve service quality in those areas.
The agency also issued the first-half report for 2021, which surveyed mobile phone users to determine their satisfaction with the services provided to them by operators working in the Egyptian market. The survey was carried out on a sample of 17,009 mobile users in cooperation with a global market agency.
NTRA had recently received an award for best research in communications through Fadel Digham, the Head of the National Projects Sector at NTRA. The 2021 Excellence Award was given by the International Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) during its annual evaluation report, for the best international research contributing to the development of the communications field. The results of the research have been used by closely 3,500 researchers and scientific and industrial institutions worldwide, as well as in several subsequent research studies.
