Funmilola Aderemi was 16th June 1992. As a little girl, she dreamt of becoming a fisherman. Now that is funny, I want to believe Lola was either staying close to a river or had people that were fishermen. The main insight from her childhood dream is she wanted to be unique and challenge the norms. From a dream of casting nets for fish, Funmilola seems to be casting products for humans.
Brief Background Story
Funmilola is an alumnus of Ibadan International School where she was a member of the marching band, Zonta club and secretary to the Student Council. Ibadan people will acknowledge the quality students from the premier university walls. After 6 years at the University of Ibadan fence, it’s fair to guess that she grew a love for the environment. Funmilola holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology. While in school, she was a member of the faculty debate team, an AIESEC member and a Nokia brand Ambassador.
After graduating, Funmilola began a professional career with Talent Mine Nigeria. In 2013, she earned two certificates. The first one is as a customer service delivery professional and the second as a customer manager. Lola left Talent Mine for a new family at Jumia Nigeria. With a new journey, Lola was a customer specialist initially. After one and half years, she was given a new responsibility as a Training, Development and Total Quality Management Specialist.
A Digital Transformation for Funmilola Aderemi
Indeed Funmilola knew technology is the key to the future. She wants a future that will be easy to live, study and achieve the best. Her decision to join Seamfix came at the right time. As a Technical Support lead, Lola’s previous experience made it seamless for her to handle. Her rise to product management is a story she needs to tell. Funmilola was a product manager at Seamfix for 2 years before joining MAX.NG earlier this year. We should have a special edition that talks about her transformation and adaptation into her current role.

Some 9 – 5 achievements
Funmilola has led a team of experts on a product that generates over 200 million in revenue. What more can be the dream of a product manager than to generate income and traction. For an individual that loves to solve problems, she’s happy to see her product have high traction. Funmilola Aderemi’s biggest achievement so far is creating an entire technical support team from scratch without any prior technical experience. The majority of Funmi’s experience is focused on customer service and non-technical support. She had to create new norms working with fresh minds to make the goal a reality. Working with newbies needs a lot of tutoring. Funmilola taught them how to overcome the initial difficulties they might face. While she was leading this team, Lola was also just getting her feet in the industry.
Lola’s most memorable experience was receiving her first USD subscription for a new product. It was a custom to ring a bell once payment is done. I feel that’s to motivate the team and get back to work but really Lola’s own was different. She got an airlift on the shoulder by her colleagues in the office to celebrate the win. For me, let’s always celebrate any wins.
