Ibironke has been in the tech field for 4 years, her impact is far-reaching. Her interest in tech began as a child with her uncle introducing her to computer systems. Ibironke wasn’t going to stop at just operating computers; she became curious about the how, why, and what of computers. Curiosity killed the cat but guess what? Ibironke’s Career- A Journey of Tenacity
Ibironke began her educational journey at Ogun State Institute of Technology. She has an OND in computer science before furthering for her HND in Computer Science and Statistics. She came out with distinctions. Ibironke was not done, she wanted more, so, she went ahead to Caleb University, Lagos. There, she graduated with honours from the Department of Computer Science. What next? No be husband’s kitchen? Ibironke said no, the sky is her starting point. Ibironke crossed the shore of the Mediterranean Sea to the United Kingdom. The University of Salford was her landing point; she obtained an MSc in Threat Intelligence and Forensics. Person wey wan move no dey slack!
Starting from her undergraduate days, Ibironke did an internship at SoftInvent as a front-end web developer. Next, she worked at Cotta&Cosh Limited as a Quality Assurance Specialist. After, she joined supermarket.ng as a software testing engineer. Ibironke served her fatherland in Ibadan, Oyo state. She was given an appointment as the President of the ICT group. She together with the group was able to train inmates, NYSC staff, and secondary school students on ICT skills. Princess was a volunteer at Dufuna (a software engineering scholarship aimed to bridge the gender gap in the tech developers space). All these tasks, she did within a year. E shock you? I think there is a secret to this, trust me, I’m gonna reveal it.
She has worked as senior software quality and test specialist at Carbon and Interswitch group. Presently, Ibironke works as a quality assurance consultant at Symphony solutions. It’s the progression for me!
The Unstoppable Tech Addict
Since the beginning of Ibironke Yekinni’s tech career, she has received quite a lot of criticism. However, it only gave her the strength to forge ahead. She was told she need years to master her software skill, alas, it took her 2 years. Contrary to people’s opinion that she is not yet skilled to earn 6 figures; Ibironke gave her all to learning and earned more. On another occasion, she was referred to as being bossy. Ibironke mastered the art of effective leadership which won her the best people of the year award. Truly, learning, relearning and unlearning are the road to success. Ibironke feels there is a need for technology to impact the Nigerian government system. So many loopholes can be fixed with the inclusion of tech.
