Michael Oragwa- A look into the Journey
Michael Oragwa holds a B.Eng in Metallurgical and Materials engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He held leadership positions but still came out as one of the top students in his department. Michael has a great love for impact and entrepreneurship. He was the Initiator and Pioneer Director, Directorate of Entrepreneurship Students Union Government during his undergrad days. He received the award of the most promising student entrepreneur in Anambra state. During his final year, he nurtured the idea of requiring his fellow students with entrepreneurial skills before graduation. He had no funding or support and many people didn’t reason with his idea. Michael funded the project with his final year money at the initial. After writing close to 100 letters of sponsorship to different bodies and organizations, God came through for him. A lot of partners and organizations including google supported him.
Digital skills were held at his university with a lot of beneficiaries. Some of the beneficiaries are now successful business owners. This brave initiative paved the way for his tech journey and MBA scholarship at Quantic school of business and technology, USA. He was awarded an MBA in business administration. Michael is an active learner with certificates from international universities. He learnt virtually from the University of Minnesota, the University of Michigan, Product school, and the University of Alberta. What a disciplined man! Online courses are not for the faint-hearted. As his favourite quote, “anyone who has ever made anything of significance was disciplined”.
Michael Oragwa- A gift from God
Additionally, Michael earned an honorary award from Sceptralhub and quite a lot of certifications. He is a member of the Association of international product marketing and management. Michael is skilful at data analysis, product management, design, and scrum, to mention a few. He loves volunteering and he is currently a fellow at the platform young professional and the product school. Michael began his career journey as a freelance marketing consultant. He helped startups define effective marketing strategies. Between 2016-2018, Michael was Orams’ business developer. He developed strategies which led to the expansion of the organization from one focus to three focus.
After that, Michael worked as a product manager at Decagon for two years. He successfully consulted for Check DC, Ventures Platform, Youverify, The United Nations, Turbocart, and Emergency Response Africa, on a contract basis. Michael used his product management expertise to help the companies achieve their goals. He Oragwa is the founder and tech career coach of Creative Minds. An organization with a commitment to training people in business and product management fundamentals.

Michael Oragwa is lucky to have people who see technology as the next big thing and gives him support constantly. The way Africa can contribute to the global transformation is by providing human resource capital to talented and hardworking Africans. He feels there is no gender margin in tech, it is only about interest. Michael sees consistency, resilience, and focuses as the survival skills techies need. Awareness, seminars and events relating to tech are the ways to educate techies.
