Mojeed Abisiga- The Making of A Scholar
Mojeed Abisiga began his educational journey in the busy, productive, and waterfall city, the University of Lagos. He is a first-class graduate from the department of mathematics. Because of his obsession with providing solutions and working with data. Mojeed is currently doing his Masters’s degree in informatics and analytics at the University of South Carolina, USA. One of the main forces that push Mojeed is his dedicated Grandpa. The old man didn’t have access to education but he is ready to make all his descendants literate. Mojeed continues making Grandpa proud by bringing home awards and laurels.
He has participated in a number of impactful training and internships that widened his data horizon. Impact week’s design thinking, YTF’s hackathon, IBM’s data science and engineering training, and data analysis internship at SEAMFIX. Mojeed was a top participant during Microsoft’s DataHack4FI innovation challenge. So far, he had professional experiences in top industries like KPMG Nigeria and Deloitte. His colleagues and bosses gave testimonies of his data analytic expertise during his stay. Mojeed is currently a graduate research assistant at his university. His leadership, networking, and managerial skills earned him the senatorial position at the USC’s Graduate Student Association. Mojeed was nominated as the exceptional data scientist of the year 2021. He came out as the winner of his category, what a success! Like, when you don’t stop showing up, the world will root for you.

Mojeed Abisiga was born with a love of tech close to his heart. There is always a first time for everything, Mojeed wasn’t left out. His first beginning as an intern and a full-time worker attracted criticism. What was the outcome? He worked on his weak points and became the go-to person for difficult tasks. Mojeed saw the criticisms as a learning/developmental stage. Regarding, the gender margin in tech, he feels the equation is not yet balanced. Communities like Data Science Nigeria are encouraging females to join the tech space.
