Olaolu Ajose started his tech journey after obtaining a BSC certificate in systems engineering from the University of Lagos. As an ardent learner, he has acquired so many skills that pose him as an industry leader. Programming, software development and management, web development, business intelligence, Robotics and AI are his specializations. Olaolu Ajose has applied his skills in a theoretical and practical situation and this makes his colleagues shower him with continuous endorsement. Olaolu Ajose has more than a decade of professional exploration. He values the principle of giving back to society.
He currently volunteers as the lead software architect at Takada Inc. and Noramor Inc. Additionally, he is the robotics and software development coach and senior engineer mentor at Decagon. Olaolu has experience working in the fintech and engineering field. He began his career as a field and support engineer at Interswitch. His small steps led to giant strides when he moved up the ladder as a software engineer and later became a senior engineer. Olaolu also worked with the FASYL technology group as a consultant. Presently, Olaolu is making waves as the head of engineering at Chaka, a financial institution situated in the heart of Lagos. Despite his wide experience, Olaolu still takes MIT Open courses on Bioengineering, and Gene Editing using (CRISPR CAS-9 ). His potentials are boundless and he is ready to explore as many as possible.
Olaolu Ajose- His Perspectives and Advice
Olaolu Ajose is an individual with an open mindset and an optimistic attitude. He constantly contributes his knowledge by working with academic professors to restructure schools’ software curricula. Olaolu identifies that a gender gap exists in the tech field with the rate of male participation relatively low to females. He noted that individuals are gradually making efforts to change the narratives through innovations. Olaolu added that there is a need to make the field culturally receptive coupled with sensitization, orientation and support. Olaolu is proud to mention her mentor who is a female, Mrs Oluwatomiwa Williams, the country manager of Microsoft ( Nigeria and Ghana). This is a pointer that it’s only a matter of time to get rid of this gender margin.
Olaolu Ajose believes in support for growth. He has been able to mentor more than 30 techies who now hold senior positions in their fields. One might think Olaolu has it all rosy, he had his fair share of life’s dish of challenge.
