Oluwadamilola Shabi is an embodiment of fun, creativity and expertise. She is a frontend developer, blogger, fashion designer, and business administrator. Oluwadamilola is living up to her name as the blessings of God in her life is immeasurable. She has intelligence, beauty, skill, and achievement. As a girl born in the 90s, she watched a lot of cartoons and had fun with her peers. This had a great influence on her choice of career in “aeronautical engineering”. She loves to learn, read get things working. Although Oluwadamilola is a Nigerian, she explores her life starting from Nigeria to Ghana. Oluwadamilola Shabi- The Active Learner
Oluwadamilola holds a BSc in information technology from Ghana Technology University College. She then proceed to Moringa School, a high ranking tech company located in Nairobi to learn full-stack development. Oh my God! I love impactful ladies. Oluwadamilola didn’t stop here, Accra Business School was her next citadel of learning. She earned an MBA in Business Administration. Need I mention, she also has a handiwork “Fashion designing”, she can illustrate and sketch creatively.
Oluwadamilola entered the labour market as a computer teacher at IMG Grammar school. Her tech journey began in 2019 as a frontend developer intern at Indicina. After four months of “techternship”, she became a full-time worker. Oluwadamilola continues updating her skill and at present, she has over 15 skills. Django, Python, angular, flask, and reactjs are a few of her specialities. Although, Olwadamilola at first wasn’t sure of what tech path to thread, her supportive family encouraged her. She gave coding a trial and 3 years down the line, it was as if she was born a coder. The people around her see technology as the answer to everything. Isn’t she blessed?
Oluwadamilola Shabi’s Tech Lens
Oluwadamilola is proud to be part of the African tech talent leaving positive marks on the ecosystem. She believes Africa gain prestige as a tech inclusive continent thanks to these tech talents. As a female in tech, Dami doesn’t recognize the gender gap in the tech field. All she sees are various organizations trying to balance up and numerous female techies doing wonders. Technology is a wide space that needs to touch all aspects of our lives. Damilola feels there is a need for technology to impact the field of special education. As an individual who has built an app that helps visually impaired people navigate their ways. She feels more needs to be done in order for the special needs not to feel left out.
Tech is a wonderful space that keeps evolving daily, what is the survival skill? Oluwadamilola says seeing oneself as a sponge ready to absorb and let out learning as the need arises is key. Are you seeing what I’m seeing “Lessons from Sponge Bob cartoon” LOL. What if the tech space feels overwhelmed, is backing off an option? Open-mindedness and taking gradual steps are what newbies in tech need. Dami agrees with the popular opinion that mentoring and learning platforms are the ways to give techies more education.

Oluwadamilola sees herself as a problem solver in 5 years’ time. Considering the fact that she engages in so many things, Damilola has her way of balancing life and work. She gives herself a closing hour from work. This has made it easy to engage in her hobbies. When she is not coding, you find her lost in the pages of a book. She writes well and is also a seamstress boss lady. Damilola loves to impact and solve problems, she is currently leading by example. She didn’t make a mistake with her favourite quote “Be the change you wish to see” (Mahatma Gandhi).
