Moja Ride (visit website)
Location: Côte d’Ivoire

As the global economy begins to recover from the COVID crisis, it’s still unclear how our usage of debit cards has been affected. As consumers move away from cash transactions, debit cards have increased in popularity. The preference for convenient and seamless payments has soared in the world during this pandemic, with an increasing number of consumers and merchants embracing digital channels for their purchases such as contactless payments and e-commerce. It is worthy to note that accepting contactless payment during an epidemic shock helps merchants attract more new consumers. Digital payment technology continues to support sales growth, especially for small businesses and new entrepreneurs.
Now, Moja Ride and Card Vibes…
Amongst such rising fintech start-ups is Moja Ride, and as the name denotes, this start-up takes care of giving you a seamless journey in the case of transportation service, and they didn’t just stop at that, with the Moja Card you can pay for your daily purchases. Just think about all of your expenses taken care of with just one card, name the expense, literally everything can be taken care of with a Moja Card. But with this start-up comes a clause, oh!!! Not to worry, it’s nothing serious, we might just have to wait for like a year or so depending on Moja’s traction before we get to enjoy this service in Africa. Luckily, my guys in Ivory Coast particularly Abidjan are the first contact with this treasured start-up.

So, a little bit of bio, don’t worry I won’t bore you, and it is expedient for me to give this bio, Moja’s investors might just be around, and she might be able to break into the African market faster than I even imagined. Moja Ride is an Ivorian company founded in 2017 with the mission of facilitating payments mainly in transport, and other merchants and traders from several sectors of activity. And like most start-ups, you just have to solidify your ground in your local environment before moving across borders. Payments in the Moja network are facilitated by the Moja card, which is an NFC prepaid card available at all points of sale, and as I stated earlier, this is only available in Ivory Coast. The Moja Carte can be reloaded with mobile money or in cash from the agents.
