Racism dates back to several centuries and is multifaceted. We failed to realize that we are human first and that every other attribute like colour, shape, size are secondary. Hence, the reason for the racial issues we have in our time. The whites think they are better than the blacks; blacks feel they are better off multicoloured, the segregation is endless.
From slavery, genocide, ethnic clash, discrimination, favouritism, bullying and so on. It divides into two broad groups – interpersonal and institutional racism.

Interpersonal discrimination occurs when detrimental and preferential acts inflicts towards individuals due to their race or ethnicity. Institutional racism refers to official and unofficial policies and practices that deny equal treatment of individuals due to their race or ethnic group.
A lot of people have been denied opportunities they’re qualified for due to discrimination. Till today, it is common in South Africa. Africans are the only victims of racial discrimination based on skin colour.
Nigeria is the voice against Racism. Unfortunately, its voice no longer exists. The country carries blame for its silence after the murder of George Floyd in America. Notables from Ghana, Addis Ababa, and other African countries sent their solidarity messages. Only for Nigeria to keep mute when its voice was needed to deal with a racism punch. Many Africans were surprised at the act and they felt Nigeria had let down all black people for keeping mute.
Therefore, people in power or concerned authorities must take action against it when the need arises.
We all deserve equal treatment and equal opportunities. Racism and Xenophobia relates to each other.
